definitely thought it would be great beause kamiyamas past works (mostly gits) but this fell way below my expectations. Was going to give it a 5/10 for the action, but I was too disappointed by this. I was really looking forward to more of his works. It would have also allowed for more political/ religious exploration. more time for characterization and development. I definitely think it would have been better as a TV series. It really was a shabby plot.ĭirecting was rather poor as well. If you're going to dive into that and religion, please be more psychological. The only thing I liked was the action visuals. They're terrible in comparison to his TV series (especially this one). But it seems like he's really bad at directing movies. 95% of the reason I decided to watch this was because it is directed by Kamiyama Kenji. Yeah, okay, just throw my expectations out the window.
